August 2022 Newsletter

Hello everyone!

We have some very exciting news to share! First and foremost, we want to thank everyone who participated and volunteered in our Engineering Olympiad in August. The Olympiad was something that many students really enjoyed, which is why we would like to continue creating more innovative events that are different from things that students are usually exposed to.

Congratulations to the following winners of the Engineering Olympiad:

• Akshay Chandra and Atharva Singh: top-scoring project in the environmental category

• Siya Jariwala, Ankit Kumar, Brianna Evamalm & Mariam Joseph: top-scoring project in the sustainability category

• Anaya and Kimaya Satavalekar: top-scoring project in the technology category

• Bhavya Keerthi Modugula: top-scoring project in the health category

In other related news, we are planning an in-person science fair! It will take place here in Calgary, Alberta. Students will work together in teams to create science experiments and research novel topics. After a month of working on these projects, students will attend an in-person symposium to present their science experiments to judges. They will also get to know other like-minded individuals, attend keynote speeches, and receive awards for their hard work!

This event will be held next January of 2023. We are so excited about this! This is the first event held in-person by STEMatic Leaders, and we cannot wait to see everyone’s presentations!
