Hey everyone!
Firstly, we would like to officially introduce our new board members at STEMatic Leaders. Please join us in welcoming Sophia Zheng as our new administrative director, Jeevesh Sarna as our new co-director of IT, Sunny Li as our new Director of Marketing, and Vivian Lei as our new newsletter writer!
Let's start with an introduction of all of the executive board at STEMatic Leaders.
Vaishvi Shah & Mayuri Agarwal: “We are the President and Vice President of STEMatic Leaders. We brainstorm and plan events and initiatives, alongside our executive team, with the goal to encourage more youth engagement in STEM. Some events and initiatives we, as an organization have executed, include webinars and panels, competitions, and educational STEM activities and posts.”
Ramih Haque & Amishi Agarwal: “We are Amishi and Ramih; the Directors of Outreach for STEMatic Leaders. We work towards getting this organization's program to reach more people, giving everyone access to the amazing opportunities it offers. We want to create a global community of STEM enthusiasts that can participate in the STEM related activities. Currently we are working towards planning and advertising some upcoming events”
Sophia Zheng: “I am an Administrative Director. As an Administrative Director, I work towards helping the organization and also hosting events. I am responsible for organizing as well. I joined STEMatic Leaders to host fun competitions for students related to STEM, and inspire others in scientific career fields.”
Sunny Li: “Hi, I am the Marketing Director of STEMatic Leaders which means I am responsible for finding other organizations or individuals that would like to collaborate with us. I joined STEMatic Leaders to become more involved in STEM fields and I hope to make a difference through my work.”
Ahyan Kabir & Vivek Bobby: “Vivek and I are the Co-Directors of Events. We work together towards designing the fun events for you to participate in! As a part of STEMatic we are always looking for new and interesting ways to engage students in the vast fields of STEM from outside a classroom setting. We hope to see you in future events!”
Raelene Yang: “Hi! I’m Raelene, the Director of Finance. My job is to reach out to sponsors, help out with other outreach opportunities, and in general help out the team.”
Arushi Chintakayala, Jeremy Wu & Jeevesh Sarna: “The Co-Directors of IT work with STEMatic Leaders to update our website and decide the platforms that the events and initiatives will be on. We are also responsible for brainstorming event ideas alongside the remaining team!”
We also have some very good news: our Data analysis workshop in late May 2022 was a huge success!
Special congratulations to our winners of the competition Asmi Vijaywargiya, who conducted a study on whether there was an increase in homework stress after online learning began. As a result of online learning, Asmi states, many students have less motivation to complete their tasks and homework. According to the study, by reducing the importance and workload of homework, students face less stress and tend to become more interested in the subject.
In addition, we would like to thank our volunteers and directors for ensuring that the workshop ran smoothly with no interruptions. These volunteers played an integral part in helping the students attending the workshop. Thank you!
As always, we would like to thank our community for supporting our mission. Without them, we would not be able to execute these outstanding events to help underserved students in STEM. Thanks for reading our Monthly Updates, and we will see you guys soon!
Best,
STEMatic Leaders Executive Board
